Elite Model look Nigeria 2017 celebrates milestone

All is now set for the Aquafina Elite Model look Nigeria 2017 edition. the theme for this year's competition is 'Africa Rising: Haute Couture' and will take place tomorrow,Sunday, 8th October, 2017 at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos. the aim is to showcase the potential of Haute Couture in Africa to the World through Fashion pieces and catwalks.
 Part of the vision of Elite Model look Nigeria is to make Modeling dreams come true and inspire African youths. This year with the 10th anniversary, the focus is not only to impact lives through modeling, but also to promote a new generation of great African youths.
The internationally recognised competition is known for discovering supermodels such as; Cindy Crawford, Gisele Bundchen, Alessandra Ambrosio including Nigerian supermodels such as Chika Emmanuella, Mayowa Nicholas, Victor Ndigwe and recently Davidson Obennebo, who was the first African to win the World Finale in the last 33 years. This platform has given these models the opportunity to walk the runways of top international brands such as Versace, Tommy Hilfiger, Dolce & Gabbana, H&M as well as feature in major campaigns for Hermes,Chanel,Balmain,Calvin Klein and many more.

Japan PM Shinzo Abe promises to deal with North Korea threat

Japanese prime Minister Shizo Abe has promised to "deal firmly" with North Korea after exit polls suggested he won a clear victory in Sunday's election.  Mr Abe had said he called the election a year early in order to increase his mandate amid a number of 'crises"facing the country.  Among them was the increasing threat that Pyongyang. The initial exit polls suggested Mr Abe had done just that, retaining his two-thirds "super-majority".  This is vital to his ambition to revise Japan's post-war pacifist constitution - enacted by the country's American occupiers in 1947 - Article 9 of which calls for the complete renunciation of war.  Japan has worked around the rule by stating that its army exists for the purposes of defence, but Mr Abe has long made it clear that he wishes to revise the rule.  He said he would try to "gain support from as many people as possible" for the task.  Speaking after the exit polls, reported by the p...

'Eight dead' in wall collapse at Senegal's Demba Dior

Eight people are reported to have died after wall collapsed at football stadium in Senegal. Many more are thought to have been wounded. It happened at Demba Dior stadium in the capital,Dakar,at the end of the league cup final between Stare DE Mbour and union sportive Ouakam. With the score 1-1 after 90 minutes, Mbour scored in first period of extra time to win 2-1, and violence broke out after the final whistle. Several media outlets report that fighting started between Rivals fans and police responded by using tear gas, which led to panic. Pictures circulating online appear to show people scrambling over a low wall amid clouds of gas.
